The Four Parts of Medicare
Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Covers inpatient care, skilled nursing facility care, and some home health services. Most people don’t pay a premium for Part A.
Part B (Medical Insurance)
Covers doctor visits, outpatient services, preventive care, and durable medical equipment. A monthly premium applies.
Part C (Medicare Advantage)
An alternative to Original Medicare, offered by private insurers. These plans often include additional benefits like vision, dental, and prescription drug coverage.
Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage)
Covers prescription medications. Offered by private insurance companies, Part D helps lower your out-of-pocket costs for drugs.
