Understanding Medicare: A Quick Overview

Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, though it also covers some younger individuals with disabilities or specific conditions. There are four main parts to Medicare:

  1. Part A: Hospital Insurance – Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, hospice, and some home health care.

  2. Part B: Medical Insurance – Covers outpatient care, doctor visits, preventive services, and medical supplies.

  3. Part C: Medicare Advantage – An alternative to Original Medicare (Parts A and B), offered through private insurers, often including additional benefits like vision, dental, and prescription drug coverage.

  4. Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage – Helps cover the cost of prescription medications.

Stay tuned as we dive deeper into each part in upcoming posts!
